Olympic Champion Rowdy Gaines Inspires SAS Swimmers

Recently Shanghai American School welcomed Rowdy Gaines, three-time Olympic gold medalist to the Pudong Campus to coach and motivate our swimmers. Rowdy set 10 world records and is a well-known US swimming broadcaster for the NBC television network. Rowdy conducted a swim clinic, shared stories from his incredible career in swimming, and encouraged students to never give up on their dreams.

Rowdy’s visit not only inspired our young swimmers but also reinforced SAS’s commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all students. As an Ambassador for the USA Swimming Foundation, Rowdy is passionate about water safety and why swim lessons are so important for all students.
